The Asia-Pacific metallurgical coalmarket saw an uptick in spot prices Friday onslightly firmer day-on-day bid indications and astronger-than-expected deal level.Platts assessed premium low-vol hardcoking coal $1/mt higher at $79.25/mt CFR China Friday. This equated to $73.65/mt FOBAustralia after accounting for Panamax-sizefreight. Second-tier material was assessed$0.25/mt up to $76.25/mt CFR China, or$70.90/mt FOB Australia on a Panamax-sizefreight back-calculation. Panamax freight fromAustralia to China was assessed steady at$5.60/mt.
