Australian iron ore junior Atlas Iron said Tuesday it had put its longer-term expansion plans on hold and would continue to focus on lowering production costs at its existing Pilbara operations. The Perth-based company reported a 23% drop in revenue in the July-December half on weaker iron ore prices, resulting in an underlying earnings loss of A$14.8 million ($11.5 million).
