Turkish steel mills booked 16.25 million metric tons of scrap imports from their global suppliers in 2015, 14.8% lower than the previous year, in line with the decline in Turkish crude steel output which fell 7.4% year-on-year to 31.52 million mt, according to the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.

7. Commodity prices have risen sharply since 2006. This may benefit developing countries specialized on primary exports, but poverty may increase. Uruguay is a net exporter of primary products and a net importer of oil.
