Polish miner JSWterminates labor agreements

Europe’s largest highquality coking coal miner, JastrzebskaSpolka Weglowa, said Wednesday it hadterminated labor agreements made withunions in 2011 and 2012 to adjust tothe more challenging market conditionsof low prices.JSW said it had terminated agreements from February 2011 and November2012 in their entirety and partiallycanceled a collective agreement reachedin May 2011. Employment guarantees inthe latter agreement will be maintained,the company said. Management said itdid not foresee job cuts or a threat tocurrent salary levels.
