An oven-dried 1000-mL, three-necked, round-bottomed flask containing an egg-shaped Teflon~R-coated magnetic stir bar (7 cm long) is equipped with a rubber septum with a thermometer, a 125 mL addition funnel and an argon inlet adaptor. The apparatus is purged with argon (Note 1).
