Turkish scrap import price falls on slightly lower deal: trade

A Turkish long-rolled steelmaker booked 90,000 mt of scrap from a US East Coast supplier late Wednesday in two cargoes due to be shipped in January, market participants said Thursday. One cargo contained 27,000 mt of heavy melting scrap I/II (80/20 blend) at $391/mt CFR Iskenderun, 13,000 mt of shred at $396/mt CFR and 5,000 mt of plate & structural at $401/mt CFR. The other cargo is thought to contain a similar breakdown of grades at the same prices.
