The following report summarizes the issues discussed and makes some comments on a meeting of interested parties assembled to elaborate on the 25 recommendations in the area of the ethical, legal and social implications of genetic testing drawn up by an expert group after one year of deliberations. The area covered by the conference was that of genetic testing for medical/health reasons; it did NOT go into issues of insurance, employment, marriage, immigration, race, ethnicity, education and banking/mortgages/credit, etc.
