Paramagnetic complexes Cu(HL~1)Cl_2 (I), Cu(HL~2)Cl_2 centre dot 2H_2O (II), and Cu(HL~1)Br_2 (III) are synthesized by the reaction of cvopper(II) halides with the optically active alpha-alkylamino oximes HL~1 and HL~2 of caryophyllene type. Crystal and molecular structures of complex I are dtermined. The crystals are orthorhombic: a=9.038(2) A, b=11.990(2) A, c=11.990(2) A, V=2004.8(7) A~3, space group P2_12_12_1, Z=4, p(calcd)=1.812 g/cm~3, R_1=0.0632. In a mononuclear complex I, the coordination polyhedron of CuCl_2N_2 is a distorted square. The structures of complexes II and III are suggested on the basis of EPR, IR and Raman spectroscopy data.
