The Role of Railroads in the Formation of Synanthropic Flora in the Middle Urals

Consideration is given to the biological diversity and bioecological features of ruderal vegetation developing along railroads and to its role in the formation of synanthropic flora. Ruderal communities emerging in anthropogeni-cally transformed areas begin to play an increasing role in the global plant cover (Gorchakovskii, 1979). They include plant groups associated with transportation network, railroads in particular, which are of interest for understanding the genesis of synanthropic flora.
