Research project on the effect of attitude and harvesting times on the yield and keeping quality of seed tubers was conducted at Kurrum Agency during 2001. The experiment was laid out as Randomized Complete Block Design with two factorial arrangementand 4 replications. Potato tubers were planted on February 18. and March 3. 2001. at Sultan and Parachinar. respectively. The attitude of Sultan is 1424 m and Parachinar 1959 m above sea level. Crop was harvested 80, 90, 100 and I 10 days after planting.In altitude, maximum days 34.0 and 34.2 were taken to 50 and 80% emergence respectively at Parachinar. Maximum sprouting (96.3%). plant height (44.3 cm) stem plant~(-1) (5.9). ground coverage (95.9%). small (1.4 kg), medium (4.3 kg) and large size (21.9kg) tubers plot~(-1), total yield ha~(-1) (39.4 t) and seed tubers yield ha~(-1) (6.2t) was also recorded at Parachinar. Minimum days to 50 and 80% emergence (29.5 and 31.2). emergence (80.3%). plant height (35.5 cm), stem plant~(-1) (3.4), ground coverage (74.8%), weight of small, medium and large size tubers plot~(-1) (0.8. 2.4 and 8.4 kg), total yield ha~(-1) (15.8 t) and seed potato ha~(-1) (3.4 t) were at Sultan. In 110 days harvesting times, maximum weight of medium (4.2 kg) and large size tubersplot~(-1) (26.2 kg), total yield ha~(-1) (45.2 t) were recorded and seed tuber yield ha~(-1) (6.5 t) were maximum in 100 days harvest. In interaction between altitude and harvesting time, maximum weight of seed tuber ha~(-1) (9.2t) was in 100 days harvest at Parachinar and minimum of 1.1 t ha~(-1) in 80 days harvest at Sultan. Highest yield of tuber ha~(-1) (62.8 t) were at Parachinar in 110 days harvest.
