A conference was arranged by the Petroleum Directorate this summer, on safety and and working environment on the fixed installations in the North Sea. It was noticed that most of the workers in the North Sea had received proper information on the special conditions offshore, particularly that the work is better paid on the shelf than corresponding work onshore.
