摘要

Improving fire resistance of non-metallic materials used in the aerospace industry is an ongoing focus of the aerospace industry and its regulators. The implementation of new materials for improved fire resistance within the pressure vessel of commercial aircraft includes material screening, specification development, pre-qualification, qualification, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification of parts utilizing the new materials. The Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) develop specifications to control the properties of materials that are important to the aerospace industry from a manufacturing, durability, and flammability perspective.
