Overlapping auditory M100 and M200 abnormalities in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder: A MEG study

Objectives: Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder share common etiological factors and pathophysiological pathways and have overlapping clinical features. Only few studies have directly compared early auditory information processing in the two disorders. The objective of this study was to investigate the M100 and M200 auditory responses in patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and compare them with healthy controls using magnetoencephalography (MEG).
