The Art of a Well-Crafted BHAG

Last week I attended SAMPE 2012 in Baltimore, Maryland. It was everything I have come to expect from this annual event. There were outstanding panels and keynotes that explored the future of engineered materials. There were solid technical sessions representing both academic and commercial development across a broad array of technologies and disciplines. There was a booming exhibition with all the creativity and vitality we have come to expect from our industry. And there were the non-stop opportunities to network, to meet the movers and shakers in engineered materials and to cooperatively explore the coming directions in materials technology. It was an exciting time spent with people who share my passion about what they do and the impact it has on the world around them. It was a beautifully planned, well-orchestrated event that highlighted the strength and vitality of our industry. All of that wound to a close on Thursday afternoon, May 24th. Then came Friday, May 25th.
