Dr. Daniel B. Miracle is the rare kind of individual whose focus on excellence, even during his days as a student, would forge a long and successful career supporting operational and future Air Force systems, and benefiting commercial industry. From his very first award, the Midwest SAMPE Edward L. Horne Award to his recent appointment to the Air Force Senior Technical (ST) rank, Dr. Miracle has carved out an area of expertise that continues to push warfighter support and the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) reputation to new heights. Dr. Miracle, a scientist working in the Air Force Research Laboratory Materials and Manufacturing Directorate's Metals, Ceramics and Nondestructive Evaluation Division, was honored with the ST rank on October 22. This is the highest grade a civilian scientist or engineer can achieve on the technical ladder at the directorate.
