The National Safety Council honored six individuals with its highest award for safety professionals during the Opening Session of the 2014 NSC Congress & Expo on Sept. 15. The Distinguished Service to Safety Award is presented annually to those who have devoted their careers to improving safety and health at work, on the roads, and in homes and communities. The award was first presented in 1942 to recognize individuals and companies that strived to reduce occupational injuries during World War II.
