Study links job stress, heart disease

LONDON — Work stress raises the risk of heart disease, according to a new study published in the Jan. 23 online issue of European Heart Journal. Focusing on a worker pool of more than 10,000 British civil servants, researchers from University College in London conducted a 12-year study that included surveys measuring participants' stress levels at work. Questions on the survey included how many breaks workers took throughout the day, how much control they had over their jobs and how pressed for time they were during the workday.
