New MSHA rule doubles mine seal strength

Arlington, VA - A new Mine Safety and Health Administration rule published April 18 more than doubles the required strength of mine seals. Under the final rule, which replaced an emergency temporary standard and is effective immediately, mine seals must withstand at least 50 pounds per square inch of pressure.
