LONDON — New research has linked carbon nanotubes to the same type of lung cancer developed from exposure to asbestos. Published online in the journal Nature Nanotechnology (Vol. 3, No. 5), the study explored the concern that carbon nanotubes could lead to mesothelioma. Carbon nanotubes are carbon atoms rolled into a tube that possess electrical properties and great tensile strength, and may someday be used in clothing or construction applications.
