In Nested Ecology, Edward Wimberley has two major aims. First, he seeks to articulate anddefend the view that the average person interacts with the natural environment pragmatically, interms that are anthropocentric, utilitarian, and economic. Second, he wants to develop an affir-mative environmental ecology from the perspective of social ecology (pp. 62-64).
