DON WAUCHOPE,WINNER OF THE 2009 AGS INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR RESEARCH IN AGROCHEMICALS, IS INTERVIEWED BY NANCY RAGSDALE

Don Wauchope received the 2009 American Chemical Society (ACS) Award for Research in Agrochemicals at the recent ACS meeting in Washington, DC. This award is presented by the Division of Agrochemicals, ACS, and co-sponsored by BASF Corporation and DuPont Crop Protection. Don received this award based on his use of basic chemical principles to clarify the behavior of pesticides in the environment. At the meeting a symposium in honor of Dr. Wauchope was held; it was entitled "Don Wauchope and Friends: Reflections on the Future of Pesticide Environmental Chemistry". Dr. Wauchope agreed to this interview to express his thoughts related to his research and to the future in this discipline.
