SOMETIMES starting beef production from scratch has its own set of advantages. One of them is a unique perspective on the physical side of cow management. At Bob Wilson's cow/calf operation near Orangeville, an old bank barn has been restored for bothfuture preservation and low stress cattle handling. The property and facility are immaculate and the barn and yards are any stockperson's dream. The barn foundation dates back to 1860, while the larger top structure is believed to be a Beatty Barn Kit,vintage 1940, the same barn type as one of the barns at the Ontario Agricultural Museum, now known atCountry Heritage Park.
