Participatory evaluation and refinement of rainfed upland rice production technology through institute village linkage programme

There is an increasing realization that low acceptance of-technologies is due to the fact that they are not matching with the farmers need and not compatible with the farmers system. There is a dire necessity that, technological interventions were integrated according to resources available with farmers through assessment and refinement. In all the interventions T_1- was taken as farmer's practices in the Berena village of Cuttack district without any interference of scientist and rest of the.tr eatments(T_2- T_4) were taken as improved package of practice for verification and decision making by the farmers: All the interventions with improved practice proved to be better over the farmers practice ensuring higher net return and additional benefitto the farmers.
