Alcohol dehydrogenase isoenzymes in relation to identification of basmati rice genotypes

The use of seed alcohol dehydrogenase for distinguishing basmati rice genotypes was found to be potentially useful for grouping 187 basmati genotypes. The enzyme can serve as a supplement, if not as a substitute to select genotypes of desired phenotypic characters within basmati group for breeding programmes.
