This article will be the first in a series on scientific research on organic farming. The series will in troduce readers to Australian scientists researching organic farmingand related topics, with an emphasis on research that is being conducted in WA. To begin the series, Jennifer Davis will discuss the research that she is condu cling as part of her studies at the Universify of Western Australia. Herproject centres on theuseof rock minerals as ferti lisers for organic beef production and is fundedby the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation.
