PolyOne to buy Spartech for USD 393 million

PolyOne has agreed to acquire Spartech for approximately USD 393 million (~ EUR 302 million), including the assumption of the company's net debt of USD 142 million (~ EUR 109 million). With annual revenues of approximately USD 1.2 billion (~ EUR 923 million), Spartech is a producer of plastic products including polymeric compounds, concentrates, custom extruded sheet and rollstock products, and packaging technologies. Its three business segments, which operate 30 facilities in the USA, Mexico, Canada, and France, are said to annually process approximately 1 billion lbs (~ 454 kt) of plastic resins, plastic alloys, and colour and speciality compounds. The transaction is expected to close in the first auarter of 2013.
