While that's not always true, there is compelling evidence that some of the best ideas and best performances in the kiwifruit industry have come from relatively small players. Hume Pack-N-Cool of Katikati which packed just under 2 million trays last season, would be one of those. Now in its 23rd year, the family company that opened up to grower shareholders in 1994 is intensely proud of its hi-tech approach and its performance on behalfof growers.
