Radiation trapping is taken into account in the calculation of frequency differences in a ring laser at the disbalance of discharge currents caused by the directed motion of atoms. The motion of neon atoms is caused by the pressure difference between the anode and cathode, by the dissociative recombination of molecular neon ions, and by the resonance recharging of ions. The results obtained allow the partial contributions of these mechanisms to the atomic motion to be determined and the atomic velocities and concentrations to be estimated.
