Review of oral surgery training services and training

As the festive season rapidly approaches we have a great deal to be cheerful about, not only is this first issue of Volume 4 of the Journal about to go to press, but 1 am also pleased to report that the Dental Pro-gramme Board of Medical Education England has just published the eagerly awaited Review of Oral Surgery Training Services and Training (http://www.mee.nhs. uk/our_work/work_priorities/review_of_oral_surgery. aspx). in a previous Editorial I explained the significance of the Oral Surgery Review to the development and expansion of the Specialty of Oral Surgery in the UK. I can now happily report that the Review Group listened and acted on the evidence presented to it and has recommended a significant expansion of Oral Surgery services in England (these changes have not yet been agreed in Scotland and Wales).
