The special features of temperature dependences of the luminescence quantum yield and the excited-state lifetime are studied for a number of polypyridine complexes of ruthenium II adsorbed in a porous glass. Photophysical processes in adsorbed complexes are interpreted within the framework of the two-site model. The rate constants of radiative decay are the same for both sites, whereas the rate constants of nonradiative decay are different. Temperature dependences of the excited-state lifetime and the luminescence quantum yield are determined by the nonradiative decay of the excited metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) state.
