Energies of Levels for the Doubly Charged Yttrium Ion

Spectra of a plasma formed in an erosion jet of a high-current discharge in a channel with an evaporating wall were used to determine energies of levels for the S, P, D, F, and G series of the doubly charged yttrium ion for the principal quantum numbers n < 12. The data obtain by this unconventional method differ from the similar results of Rider and Epstein. In our opinion, these authors made an error in computer identification of spectra of a spark discharge. Some levels of the yttrium atom were identified as levels of the doubly charged yttrium ion.
