摘要

In the study,cure of a mixture of chitosan and of one of the few varieties of polycarboxylic acid onto cotton fabric was performed,for finding out what sort of reactions would take place and which would be the reaction mechanism involved.Some empirical results show that all polycarboxylic acids tested would undergo esterification reactions with both cotton fabric and chitosan.It appears that the more carboxyl groups were contained in the acid,the better or to a greater extent esterification would occur,and so would be the reaction if raising the curing temperature.With such heat treatment and subsequent washing with water,the esterification noticed between the acid and the two polymers would cut down the amount of cross-linkage between chitosan and the fabric.
