The paper discusses a method for the obtaining of a polymer-drug system,in which the macromolecular support is a hydrogel based on gellan and poly(vinyl alcohol).The drug (chloramphenico!)has been included in a hydrogel film characterized by a high degree of swelling in water through a diffusional process.The kinetics of drug absorption and release processes from two macromolecular supports with different swelling characteristics in aqueous media has been studied.
