PPRODUCTlON FROM ALBERTA'S MASSIVE oilsands deposits is currently averaging about one million barrels per day,and by 2015,that number will have tripled to nearly three million barrels per day.Current technology-truck-and-shovel mining,hot water extraction of mined sands,steam-based in-situ production- will leave about 90 per cent of the estimated 1.7 trillion barrels of the in-place bitumen resource in the ground.
