George E. Bishop, district media specialist at Ovid-Elsie Area Schools in Elsie, Michigan, is the grand prize winner of the "What the OCLC Online Union Catalog Means to Me" essay contest, sponsored by OCLC and U.S. regional networks in honor of the 25th anniversary of the OCLC Online Union Catalog (OLUC). Receiving 500 dollar prizes were: Donald O. Case, professor, Library and Information Science Department, University of Kentucky, in Lexington; Patricia L. Hassan, assistant to the county librarian,Johnson County Library, Shawnee Mission, Kansas; Jeanette C. Smith, head of government documents at the New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico; and Daofu Zhang, professor in the Department of Computers at Shandong University of Technologyin Shandong, China.
