SCHLUMBERGER RECENTLY ANNOUNCED the release of ACTive PS integrated Coiled Tubing (CT) production service at the 2010 SPE Annual Technology Conference and Exhibition. The new service couples real-time fiber-optic telemetry with existing, advanced wireline production logging tools. The ACTive PS service uses a CT string incorporating fibre-optic for telemetry and a 111/16-in Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA), which powers and communicates with the conventional production logging. Data is sent wirelessly from the working reel to the acquisition and interpretation computer on surface, eliminating the need for an on-location surface logging unit. Only the ACTive PS BHA and a production logging engineer are required on location with the CT unit.
