摘要

One of the driving forces of oncogenesis is tetraploidy, a duplication of the DNAcontent that, upon asymmetric cell division or progressive chromosome loss, canoriginate aneuploidy. Recent findings from our group indicate the existence of animmunosurveillance system that eliminates tetraploid cancer cells. We surmisethat tetraploidy-inducing chemotherapeutic agents may elicit potent anticancerresponses by re-activating this immunosurveillance system.
