Because mycotoxins are invisible, odorless, and tasteless, the only way to detect these compounds in grain or feed is to perform an analytical test. Unfortunately, although excellent analytical methods are available, it is difficult to estimate mycotoxin concentrations accurately and precisely in large grain lots because of the wide variability associated with mycotoxin test procedures.
