Two new rigs for Statoil Songa providing Statoil with a new rig type

Statoil intends to rejuvenate its rig fleet on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). A contract for construction of two new drilling rigs has recently been awarded to Songa Offshore. The contract for the two category D rigs is worth an aggregate $ 2.47 billion for a fixed eight-year charter period.
