UK Reviews Offshore Safety

The UK's newly created Oil Spill Prevention and Response Advisory Group (OSPRAG) met Wednesday for an urgent review of North Sea safety regulations in the wake of BP's devastating oil spill in the US Gulf of Mexico. In the event of a major spill on the UK Continental Shelf, OSPRAG will be looking to see whether companies are ready to respond and how clean-up costs and compensation are financed.
