Petrobras Inks Strategic Cooperation Accord With China’s Sinopec

Brazil’s state-controlled Petrobras has inked a strategic cooperation agreement with Chinese state giant Sinopec and China Development Bank (CDB), building on a pact signed last May. In a statement released late Thursday, Petrobras said the agreement includes cooperation in exploration and production, downstream projects, petrochemicals and fertilizers, and services and procurement. It added that there is a possibility it could also sell some of its 100% interest in blocks BM-PAMA-3 and BM-PAMA-8 in the Para-Maranhao Basin to Sinopec (OD Apr.15,p7).
