National Oilwell Buys Firms

National Oilwell Varco said it has acquired two private businesses serving the international oil and gas industry, for $160 million in cash. The first company is Hochang Machinery Industries, a manufacturing and fabrication business with facilities in Ulsan and Geoje, South Korea. Hochang has supplied equipment services to National Oilwell for several years and has 600 employees.
