US Senate Weighs Financial Regulation, ‘Volcker Rule’ May Perish

It has been 18 months since the collapse of investment bank Lehman Brothers and Con- gress has yet to give President Obama a bill that would overhaul the US financial system. But the House of Representatives did pass comprehensive legislation in December and the Senate is now moving ahead with the is- sue, with the Senate Banking Committee likely to debate a bill in the next week or so.
