India Enjoys 'Sweet Spot' Advantage in Economic Growth-World Bank

On Tuesday, 28th April, the World Bank issued a warning against external shocks to the Indian economy that could come through the reversal in the global oil price decline and a halt in the US'easy money policy. It also projected that country's GDP would grow at 7.5% this fiscal. It suggested weaning the fiscal outcomes'more fully'from the oil prices by reducing the intensity of imported oil use, while encouraging alternative sources of energy. It also suggested "appropriating" the current "sweet spot" moment to further rationalise the still high levels of subsidies on food and fertiliser.
