Venezuela’s crude oil production rose byan unexpectedly strong 221,000 barrels perday in May to 2.62 million b/d, based ontrade data received this week from Venezue-lan government sources.A smaller increase of 80,000 b/d had beenexpected by Oil Daily sister publication OilMarket Intelligence (OMI).But maybe more significant than the rise inoutput is the revised methodology by one ofthe key forecasters of Venezuelan supply.
