Taiwan to Phase Out Nuclear

Taiwan has released a new power policy that sees nuclear energy phased out gradually and a bigger role for renewables. The energy bureau, which falls under the purview of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, announced recently that state utility Taiwan Power (Taipower) would decommission its oldest nuclear reactors at Chinshan when the long-delayed new reactors at Lungmen are able to operate in a stable fashion.
