BP Shuts Forties Pipeline

BP has started a planned five-day shutdown of its Forties pipeline system in the UK North Sea to enable the removal and disposal of an unexploded mine from World War II and to carry out important maintenance. Forties crude is one of the four streams used to set the Brent oil price benchmark. “All users of the Forties pipeline system have been kept regularly informed and are fully aware of the plan,” operator BP said on Monday. “The plans have also received full regulatory approvals and support.”
