Rowan Adds Jackup to Fleet

Keppel AmFELS has delivered the third of four EXL jackup rigs to a subsidiary of Houston-based Rowan ahead of schedule and within budget. Rowan Executive Vice President of Drilling Operations David Russell said the jackup was named Rowan EXL-III. He added that the rig is scheduled to depart Keppel AmFELS' yard in Brownsville, Texas in January to begin drilling an ultra-deep natural gas well for McMoRan Exploration in the Gulf of Mexico.
