India and Iran have had economic relations for centuries. However, their relations entered into a new era after the partition of the Indian subcontinent into India and Pakistan, the Iranian Islamic republic revolution and the Iranian nuclear issue. Come 2014, the recent thaw between the skeptical West and Iran augurs well for Indo-Iran crude trade and oil ties in general.
