摘要

Anybody who follows the oil business in Asia and in particular, India would agree that the majority problems in this region are due to misplaced priorities and policy errors. With the end of the cold war, India, some believe, could have been a little more astute on foreign policy issues to have worked around long standing disputes which sap our strength, test our patience and lead to chronic dysfunction which ends up lowering our prestige in the international circuit. I refer here specifically to the 'Peace pipeline' project concerning Iran, Pakistan and India which dragged on across decades and ended in a ridiculous scenario where the initiator and main intended beneficiary of the tripartite deal ended up a spectator while the rest signed up and forged ahead.
